Sirte – Students from the Department of Chemical Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Sirte, accompanied by several faculty members, conducted an educational visit on Wednesday to the Ras Lanuf Industrial Complex for Oil and Gas Manufacturing, as part of efforts to enhance cooperation between academic institutions and the industrial sector.
The visit is part of the Ras Lanuf Company’s efforts to support scientific research and develop student skills, by providing university students the opportunity to see practical experiences and real-world applications in their fields of specialization, thereby helping to bridge the gap between academic theory and practical application.
The program included a field tour of the ethylene and polyethylene plants, where students learned about the nature of operation and maintenance processes. They listened to detailed explanations from engineers and technicians about the operational monitoring systems inside the control rooms and the mechanisms for ensuring safety and quality at various stages of production.
The faculty members and students of the University of Sirte expressed their appreciation for the welcome and attention the visit received from the management and staff of the Ras Lanuf Company, praising the organizational and professional level of the complex.
At the conclusion of the visit, the university delegation presented a commemorative shield to the company’s board of directors in recognition of its prominent role in supporting the educational process and strengthening the partnership between industry and the university.
