A busy road in Childwall was closed to traffic this evening following a four-car crash. Emergency services were called to Bentham Drive at around 4.40pm on Friday, November 7, after reports of a collision involving a Nissan X-Trail, Range Rover, Ford Fiesta and Vauxhall Zafira.

Merseyside Police, Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service, and the North West Ambulance Service all attended the scene. Police confirmed that there were only slight injuries, with one occupant being checked over by an officer at the scene.

Photos taken shortly after the crash showed an ambulance and a large police presence as emergency crews worked to make the scene safe and clear the vehicles.

One of the cars appeared to have suffered significant front-end damage, with its bonnet visibly crumpled.

According to traffic alert service Inrix, Bentham Drive was closed in both directions at the junction with Dominic Road while the vehicles were recovered.

The road has since reopened.
