United Parcel Service and FedEx have temporarily grounded their fleets of MD-11 cargo jets after the UPS crash this week in Louisville, Ky., in which 14 people are now confirmed to have died.
UPS said late Friday that it made the decision “out of an abundance of caution” and “at the recommendation of the aircraft manufacturer.” MD-11s account for about 9% of the UPS Airlines fleet, the company added.
