High-flying Millwall and Preston North End shared the points and also matched each other in dreadful first-half defending in an eventful draw.
North End, who were seeking a fourth consecutive Championship win, were gifted an early goal against the run of play when Michael Smith anticipated Camiel Neghli’s ill-advised backpass and finished smartly.
But Millwall were level by the break thanks to keeper Daniel Iversen’s calamitous miskick, which allowed Mihailo Ivanovic to roll the ball into an empty net.
The open nature of the game continued after the break, with Millwall remaining on top and creating the better chances.
Ivanovic, Thiero Ballo, Casper De Norre and Jake Cooper all went close for the hosts, while Lions forward Aidomo Emakhu wasted a great one-on-one opportunity.
But Preston were an increasing threat in the closing stages, with substitute Thierry Small going close with a strike that somehow went wide after squirming under keeper Max Crocombe, who also saved from Lewis Dobbin.
