In a moment when families across the United States are struggling to put food on the table, Prince Harry and Meghan, have been supporting local communities affected by the growing hunger crisis and assisting local partners providing meals and relief to those most in need.

Now, as the crisis deepens and millions of Americans face food insecurity, they are bolstering those efforts at a larger scale—mobilizing support through their nonprofit organization, The Archewell Foundation, to help meet this moment.

Across the country, food banks and community organizations are working tirelessly to fill the gap, and stepping up to meet the need. At The Archewell Foundation, we believe that food is more than sustenance—it is dignity, stability, and care for one another.

To support those most affected, we are making emergency donations to local partners who are providing immediate relief, including:

Food Bank of Santa Barbara County – delivering meals and essential groceries to families across the Central Coast

Our Big Kitchen LA – preparing and distributing freshly cooked meals to those facing food insecurity

Project Angel Food – delivering grocery gift cards to clients who have been affected by recent federal cuts to SNAP

Food Forward – recovering fresh produce from local farms and wholesalers to feed communities in need

ALMA Backyard Farms – expanding their “pay-what-you-can” farm stands and growing community-led access to fresh food

LIFT – providing direct cash assistance to families most impacted by the freeze in SNAP benefits, helping cover immediate needs like food, rent, and child care while restoring a sense of stability and hope

How You Can Help

Moments like this remind us that caring for one another is both a collective act and a personal choice. Whether through time, resources, or simple gestures of compassion, each of us can help ensure that no one faces hunger alone.

Here are a few ways to support your community and be part of the response:

Share what you can. Donate canned goods, fresh produce, or pantry staples to your local food pantry or community fridge. Even small contributions can make a difference for a family this week.

Gather others to help. Organize a volunteer day through your school, workplace, or faith community to collect groceries, assemble meal kits, or deliver food to neighbors.

Show up for seniors. Visit your local senior center to help distribute meals—or simply share company with older adults who may be feeling the impact of food insecurity most deeply.

Support local and national organizations working every day to keep families fed, including:

LIFT – offering emergency cash relief to families most affected by the freeze in SNAP benefits and other economic hardships. Their fund helps cover essentials like food, rent, and child care for those hit hardest.

Propel – through its Providers app, Propel is sending direct cash transfers to SNAP families waiting for delayed benefits, helping parents keep food on the table.

Farm2People – Support pop-up produce distributions that connect small farmers with food-insecure households.

Food Forward – Fund ongoing produce recovery and distribution across Los Angeles.

Share Our Strength / No Kid Hungry – Join a national campaign ensuring children continue to have access to meals.

We are inspired by our community, like you, and join you, as we come together to: Show up, do good.
