Vladan Kovacevic              7

Certainly getting plenty of shot stopping practice in this Norwich team. Big saves to secure a point at Sheffield Wednesday a few days earlier. But no chance with the unmarked Jordan James’ thumping close range stoppage time winner.

Did foil Abdul Fatawu in each half. Excellent reflexes to go full length in the 66th minute, then out sharply with a trademark kick away from James. Foiled Fatawu again in the 95th minute. First half spotter’s badge with a big diagonal arrowed to Harry Darling who put Josh Sargent through but the American was forced wide.

Kellen Fisher                                   6

Closing down instincts led indirectly to Mathias Kvistgaarden’s opener when the youngster halted a counter at source. Was equally alert in the 45th minute when a quickly taken throw allowed Sargent to turn infield and link with Oscar Schwartau.

Left Jordan Ayew unattended at the back post in the 18th for the forward to lash over on the half-volley. Aimless delivery when he cut in on his left in the 40th minute. Tried to thread a return for Kenny McLean but the Scot was unable to control his pass.

Jakov Medic            5

Was sniffing a first Norwich league goal when he followed in McLean’s inviting inswinger from a corner routine with Pelle Mattsson. Big switch for the Scot in the eighth minute released Mirko Topic but his slip pass was intercepted. Near post clearing header from James’ cross.

Harry Darling                                   5

Still looks vulnerable to service slid down his channel. Wrestled off the ball by James in the 68th minute but Vladan Kovacecic came to the rescue. Vital sliding challenge to halt Patson Daka in the 41st minute.

Big block on Fatawu when he cut inside McLean. Set piece threat at the opposite end with a knock down for Sargent.

All-action again in both directions but struggled to keep Fatawu in check and got exposed in the closing stages for both goals. Seemed to lose the flight of Fatawu’s spiralling cross as Daka rose above him and Topic to tee up Bobby De Cordoba-Reid.

Then not able to get close enough as the winger stood up a delivery crashed home by James. Gorgeous inswinger on a quick corner routine was begging for a touch. Slaloming run across the park in the 45th minute had the crowd roaring, but Kellen Fisher’s return was too hot.

Pelle Mattsson                    5

Ball-watching for Leicester’s winner as James ran off the back of him from half-way, and the Dane sensed the danger too late to intercept Fatawu’s cross. Set for McLean to whip in a second phase corner.

Well-positioned at the edge of his own area in the 20th minute to cut out a Leicester cross and snap a pass into Mathias Kvistgaarden. Teed up Sargent in the 56th minute.

Mirko Topic                         5

Another summer signing who is a long way short of his initial impact in green and yellow. Not offering sufficient protection out of possession or quality and control on the ball. Took McLean’s knockdown in his stride but after bursting past Harry Winks his pass was intercepted.

Did cut out a Leicester counter in the 16th minute for Sargent and Kvistgaarden to find Schwartau who had a cross cleared. The young Dane had a shot blocked on the hour mark from Topic’s set. But needed to show far more resolve when he was outjumped by Daka for the Foxes’ equaliser.

Jovon Makama                   5

Best moment by a distance came in the 26th minute when he picked the ball up on the right and had no other thought than holding off Ricardo Pereira before unleashing a low, angled shot Asmir Begovic parried behind. Judging by his body language still finding the step up physically demanding in the closing stages.

Mathias Kvistgaarden                   7

Tend to agree with Manning’s post-match assessment City’s plight would not have been as desperate had the headline summer signing not been unavailable through injury. His second goal of the past few days was a predatory intervention.

First a shot on his right rebounded off Caleb Okoli but he had the presence of mind to chest and hit on his opposite left foot to squeeze it past Begovic at his near post. Willingness to challenge for any number of aerial duels but like Sargent needs much better service.

Oscar Schwartau                           6

Pace and drive took him clear in the 64th minute but Begovic parried his goalbound angled drive. Minutes earlier had a left-footed snapshot blocked.

Cross cleared in the 16th minute after sharp link up play between Kvistgaarden and Sargent. Velcro-touch to control Sargent’s drilled pass but the American was unable to take the return.

Josh Sargent                              6

Now in drought territory. 11 games and counting since he troubled the scorer. No sighters on a par with his huge chance in the opening minute at Hillsborough in midweek. Shot blocked in the 56th minute from Mattsson’s set.

Barrelled through in the 34th minute but his shot deflected up and over via Okoli. Unable to take Schwartau’s return pass in his stride in the 45th minute.
