Nov 8 (Reuters) – Germany is set to approve defence equipment purchases worth more than $3.47 billion, including 20 light combat helicopters from Airbus SE (AIR.PA), opens new tab, Bloomberg News reported on Saturday, citing a government document.The report said lawmakers were expected to approve a major defence spending package during a closed-door meeting on Wednesday, which also includes a roughly 1 billion euro deal with Hensoldt AG (HAGG.DE), opens new tab and Theon International (THEON.AS), opens new tab for 100,000 night vision devices.

A spokesperson for the German defence ministry declined to comment on the report.
