The Defense Minister’s Office announced that Minister Israel Katz signed the appointment letter of attorney Itay Ofir as Chief Military Advocate General, replacing the retiring Chief Military Advocate General Yifat Tomer-Yerushalmi. “Attorney Ofir will be granted the rank of Major General and will assume his position on November 24,” the statement said. Before the announcement, sources close to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he “not only was angry about the MAG appointment behind his back by Katz but he was angry about the appointment itself.”
