Police in York Region are searching for four suspects following a home invasion in Richmond Hill over the weekend, where they allegedly “gathered” the victims into a common space before “ransacking” the house.

Police were called early Sunday morning, at around 4:55 a.m., to a home in the area of McCallum Drive and Bathurst Street.

Three suspects allegedly forced their way into the house while the homeowners were sleeping.

The police service said the group of suspects rounded up the home’s five occupants in a common area before they “ransacked” the house.

They did not say what items, if any, were stolen.

Police said one victim was assaulted during the incident, but did not sustain any physical injuries.

Officers describe the three suspects as young men who were last seen wearing dark clothing, gloves and balaclavas.

Police say the group of suspects fled the scene in a dark blue sedan, which was being driven by a fourth suspect who was waiting outside the home. They did not provide any identifying details about this suspect.

Investigators are asking anyone with information to contact them or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
