Police have arrested one of three men wanted on a Canada-wide warrant after a shooting left another man dead nearly a month after the incident in Scarborough.

The shooting happened on the evening of Sept. 24, in the area of Sheppard Avenue East and Brimley Road.

According to police, the victim and suspects attended an establishment in the area before getting involved in a physical altercation.

Officers allege the suspects brandished a gun and shot the victim, who they identified as 42-year-old Yueyuan Dong of Woodbridge.

Dong was rushed to the hospital but police said he succumbed to injuries weeks later, on Oct. 19. His death marked the city’s 35th homicide of 2025.

On Oct. 31, Toronto police issued Canada-wide warrants for three suspects in connection with the incident: Kai Chen, 29, of Markham; Donald Keeshig, 29, of Toronto; and Kye-Shawne Griffiths, 28, of Brampton.

On Sunday, Toronto police said Keeshig turned himself in to the 42 Division. He has been charged with second-degree murder.

Chen and Griffiths are still wanted for second-degree murder.
