A driver has been arrested on suspicion of drug-driving after they gave chase to gardaí in Inishowen.
Gardaí used a stinger device to eventually bring the motorist to a halt in the early hours of Sunday morning.
The driver came to the attention of gardaí at a crime checkpoint in Bridgend.
After testing positive for cocaine at the checkpoint, they then decided to drive off at speed.
“The vehicle was driven in a dangerous manner for a distance,” said a garda spokesperson.
“A stinger device was successfully deployed and it was located and seized a short time later.”
Court proceedings will now follow. The driver will also have to apply to the District Court Judge in order to get their vehicle back.
