The Canberra Raiders can confirm the signing of Daine Laurie on a three-year deal from the commencement of the 2026 season.
Laurie will join the Raiders until the end of 2028, after playing 76 first grade games for both Penrith and the Wests Tigers.
The 26-year-old will bring key experience and depth to the Raiders squad, having played anywhere in the outside backs.
Taking on a new challenge, Laurie said he’s excited for a new opportunity and the long-term deal provides security for him and his family.
“I’m really excited to rip in and connect with the boys in preseason. I’m looking forward to making some new friendships and it’s been great to receive some security for me and my family,” Laurie said.
“I’ve been in Sydney for about 10 years, since I made the move from the North Coast when I was a 17-year-old. It’s definitely going to be different but I’m up for the challenge and I think it’ll be a great opportunity.”
Raiders Senior Recruitment Officer Dave Warwick said Laurie is a great addition to the squad and is excited to see him get to work in the preseason.
“We’re excited to have Daine join the club long-term and know we have a player coming to us with valuable NRL experience,” Warwick said.
“Daine provides invaluable depth to the Raiders, having played a number of positions at the NRL level and we look forward to him joining the squad ahead of pre-season.”
