A man is in a critical condition following an incident in Longford over the weekend.

He was discovered with serious injuries in Drumlish at around 7:30pm on Saturday night.

The man in his 60s was taken to Mullingar General Hospital where he remains this evening.

He was last seen in the Currabawn area at around 7pm on Saturday night.

Gardaí are investigating all the circumstances around the discovery and are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
