The Zionist Congress officially elected Yaakov Hagoel and Rabbi Doron Peretz as chairmen of the Zionist Executive, each for half a term. The two were elected by a large majority of 480 in favor, 14 against and 5 abstentions. Dr. Yizhar Hess was elected as deputy and acting chairman. Rabbi Peretz is the father of Captain Daniel Peretz, who fell in battle on October 7, was abducted to the Gaza Strip and was returned about a month ago.
