Police have urged people not to speculate after a woman suffered a medical emergency at home. Merseyside Police has confirmed that officers attended a house on Highsted Road in Kirkby shortly before 11am this morning, Tuesday, following reports of an urgent medical incident.

A spokesperson for the force told the ECHO this afternoon that officers received a report from North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) that a woman in her 40s had required medical attention.

Officers attended a semi-detached house to support NWAS paramedics. The force spokesperson added that officers also helped transport the family to hospital.

Merseyside Police said: “Whilst we remain at scene to establish the full circumstances, no criminal offences have been identified and no one has been arrested.

“We would discourage anyone from engaging in speculation online about the circumstances of this incident, which is unhelpful and potentially hurtful to those involved.”

The force earlier said that officers were called to the scene following reports of a medical episode. NWAS added a woman required medical attention inside a house.

Two air ambulances landed at the scene close to Headbolt Lane train station. One air ambulance is believed to have landed at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital.

Officers and plain-clothed detectives were reported entering the back garden of the house.
