Investigators with the York Regional Police Homicide Unit have charged one adult with First Degree Murder in connection with a fatal home invasion that occurred in the City of Vaughan.

Investigators have obtained judicial authorization to identify 16-year-old Jayshaun WILLIAMS, who is wanted for First Degree Murder in connection with the incident. The judicial authorization will expire on Friday, November 14, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. At which time his image and name must be removed from circulation.

Four additional individuals are facing various related charges.

On Sunday, August 31, 2025, shortly before 1 a.m., officers responded to a residence in the area of Andreeta Drive and Barons Street for a report of a home invasion. Upon arrival, officers located a male victim inside the residence suffering from gunshot wound. Despite lifesaving efforts, he was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The victim has been identified as 46-year-old Abdul Aleem FAROOQI of Vaughan.

Through a comprehensive investigation, one suspect has now been charged in connection with this incident and an arrest warrant has been issued for 16-year-old Jayshaun WILLIAMS, who is facing a charge of First Degree Murder.

A 34-year-old man from the City of Toronto is charged with Accessory After the Fact.

Three additional suspects have been identified and believed to have operated the stolen vehicle.

See attached charge list for details. Investigators are releasing images of the accused to assist in identifying any other suspects or associates and are urging anyone who recognizes them or has information to contact police.

The investigation remains active, with suspects still outstanding.

Investigators are appealing to anyone who has not yet spoken with police, or who may have security or dashcam video from the area, to please come forward.
