Twenty three schools across Cumbria have been forced to close today due to flooding following heavy overnight rain.
The closures affect schools mainly in the Wigton area, as well as Maryport.

Parents are being advised to check with their child’s school or the Cumberland Council for the latest updates.
The Met Office has issued a Yellow weather warning for rain, in place until 11 am, with surface water flooding continuing to affect several parts of the county.
