, Kyiv time. Ukraine’s General Staff confirmed the first combat use of domestic long-range weapons, including the new “Flamingo”]

Multiple explosions rocked the Russian city of Oryol in the early hours of Thursday, Nov. 13, as Ukraine reportedly launched long-range “Flamingo” cruise missiles against targets deep inside Russian territory.

According to footage published by the Telegram channel “Nikolaevskiy Vanek,” Russian air-defense systems attempted to intercept the incoming missiles, but large fragments were seen blazing through the night sky and crashing into residential courtyards. The videos show burning debris falling between parked cars and landing only meters from apartment buildings.

Hours after the incident, Ukraine’s General Staff confirmed that the country’s Defense Forces conducted coordinated overnight strikes against “several dozen” Russian military and logistical facilities across Russia and temporarily occupied Ukrainian territories.

According to the statement, Ukrainian forces hit multiple high-value targets in occupied Crimea, including the Morskoy Neftyanoy Terminal oil storage facility, helicopter parking areas, and UAV storage and preparation sites at the Kirovske airfield, as well as an air-defense radar near Yevpatoria. In the occupied part of Zaporizhzhia region, Ukrainian strikes targeted an oil depot near Berdyansk and forward command posts of Russia’s 5th Combined Arms Army and the 127th Motor Rifle Division.

FSB Claims Ukraine Tried to Assassinate Putin’s Spiritual Advisor to Derail Russia-US Rapprochement

Russia’s Security Service accused Ukraine of plotting to assassinate Putin’s spiritual advisor, claiming its goal was to disrupt Kremlin-Trump team talks on Russia-US relations normalization.

The General Staff also confirmed that “targets on the territory of the Russian Federation were engaged,” with the extent of damage still being assessed.

Crucially, the statement marked the first official acknowledgment that Ukraine used a range of domestically produced long-range weapons during the operation — including the newly developed “Flamingo,” “Bars,” and “Liutyi” missile and drone systems.

The Telegram channel “Supernova+” said the wreckage visible in the footage belonged to Ukrainian “Flamingo” missiles – a new generation of long-range precision weapons believed to be part of Kyiv’s expanding strike capability against strategic Russian military infrastructure.

Kyiv Post couldn’t independently verify these claims.

Oryol regional governor Andrey Klychkov declared an air-raid alert shortly after the explosions and urged residents to remain in rooms without windows or seek shelter outdoors, warning of further potential debris from air-defense interceptions.

“At this time, there is no information about casualties,” he said.

The Flamingo long-range (strategic) subsonic cruise missile was unveiled in August 2025 with a claimed range of over 3,000 kilometers (1,864 miles); a Fire Point representative previously claimed that it outperforms the US Tomahawk cruise missile.

The current missiles are equipped with bunker-busting warheads that “[can pierce] thick concrete” of up to 10 meters (33 feet).
