Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have closed all eastbound lanes of Highway 401 at Oxford Road 29 following a crash.
The collision was reported shortly after 7:30 a.m. Thursday.
An OPP spokesperson confirmed to 570 NewsRadio that one person was killed in the crash involving two transport trucks.
“Fire and paramedic services, as well as Oxford OPP members arrived on scene and located a CMV (Commercial Motor Vehicle) that had collided with the rear of another CMV while traveling in the eastbound lanes.” said Constable Matthew Foster. “The driver of the CMV that collided with the rear of the other was unfortunately pronounced deceased at scene.”
Foster said that the driver of the other involved transport truck was not injured.
