Peel Regional Police release details of ‘Project Winner,’ which seized almost $1 million in illegal drugs and arrested one suspect.

About $1 million in illegal drugs have been seized as part of a Peel Regional Police probe into drug trafficking in Brampton.

Details of the investigation, dubbed Project Winner, were announced during a news conference at Peel police headquarters in Mississauga on Thursday morning.

The investigation, which was conducted by the police service’s Community Intervention Response Team (CIRT), was launched in September of 2025.

Sgt. Wayne Labine told reporters that investigators learned of a 29-year-old Toronto man was allegedly involved in “numerous” drug transactions in the region.

Two search warrants were executed at addresses in Toronto and 13 kilograms of illicit drugs, with an estimated street value of $1 million, were seized, police said.

The drugs included cocaine, methamphetamines, and fentanyl, investigators noted.

A handgun with an extended magazine and 1,000 rounds of ammunition were also seized, police said.

A suspect, identified by police as Louis Aloysuis, faces 11 charges, including six firearm-related offences and five drug trafficking offences.

The accused, police said, was on a 10-year firearms prohibition at the time of his arrest. He remains in custody, police noted.

“We believe this arrest and these seizures will have a positive impact on our communities,” Labine said.

No additional arrests are anticipated in the investigation.
