A number of Kerry people have been scammed out of thousands of Euro in the last week, having fallen victim to online criminals posing as bank officials.
This latest scam involves callers purporting to be from a bank, claiming that the victim’s account has been compromised.
The person is advised to purchase iTune vouchers from the post office and give the voucher number to the scammers.
In one such incident, one woman in Kerry was scammed out of a sum of €1,200.
