The future of one Chelsea player is in limbo right now, and top Premier League clubs are monitoring his situation right now ahead of a possible transfer.

Nicolas Jackson’s status is up in the air at the minute, and the Club World Cup triumph for the Blues gave the best indicator as to where he stands in the pecking order right now.

Jackson did not play a minute of the final against PSG, with Joao Pedro starting and Liam Delap coming off the bench in the second half.

Newcastle United have been linked with the addition of the Senegal international, and they are looking desperate to sign a new striker with Alexander Isak wanting to leave the club.

While Newcastle fans are not keen on Jackson, their club certainly have him listed as one of the names on their shortlist alongside former Blues target Benjamin Sesko.

According to the iPaper, the Magpies have been in preliminary talks with the Blues over the possible transfer, and are valuing the striker at around £65m.

The Blues already have Delap and Pedro in their ranks who can now fill the number nine role, however it remains to be seen if that financial figure would be enough for them to part ways.

It has been said the Blues are looking for £80m to sell Jackson, however receiving Newcastle’s reported valuation would provide them enough money to sign one of their priority targets.

Chelsea are very keen on bringing Xavi Simons into their first team squad ahead of the 2025/26 season, and the Blues are in talks with RB Leipzig over a potential deal.

The Dutchman can operate on the left and in the centre, offering cover at times for Cole Palmer to continue on the right wing, where he starred against PSG.

Chelsea reportedly must pay around £52m for Simons this summer, however this amount can be covered comfortably by the sale of Jackson this summer.

The Blues are beginning to see player sales go through, with Joao Felix set to be announced as a new Al Nassr player in the coming days.
