Many questions remain after an alleged shooting in a Waterloo intersection.

Early Sunday morning, police officers were called to reports of gunshots in the Bridgeport Road East and Weber Street North area of Waterloo.

Waterloo regional police have since released security video footage of the area at the time.

The video shows a few cars attempting to move through the intersection, followed by loud bangs off camera around 1:50 a.m. It’s alleged the shooting involved two black vehicles driving through the intersection by the Bridgeport Plaza.

Investigators are hoping anyone who was around the intersection at the time of the shooting can come forward with information.

“Four other light-colored vehicles, who are not believed to be involved in the shooting incident, were present at the intersection at the time of the shooting,” reads a release from police.

“Investigators would like to identify and speak with the occupants of the light-colored vehicles who witnessed the shooting.”

At one point, regional police were looking for one person reportedly involved in the shooting who may have been hurt.

There will be a continued police presence in the area as the investigation continues.
