Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara sent a letter to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, in which she wrote that there is an “urgent and essential need” to appoint ministers to positions previously held by the Shas party, before it withdrew from the government. “For about a month, the ministers of Health; Welfare and Social Security; Interior; Labor; Religious Services; Jerusalem and Israeli Traditions have not been serving in their positions,” wrote Baharav-Miara, under the heading “Expiration of the terms of ministers in the Israeli government serving as acting ministers.” According to her, “the implication is severe damage to the functioning of government ministries and to the public.”
