If you’re just waking up to the footy news this morning, no one had a bigger or better Tuesday than Scotland. Facing Denmark in a pivotal World Cup qualification match, Scotland scored four, including a Scott McTominay bicycle kick, a goal from the halfway line and a dramatic stoppage-time curler, to send the nation to its first World Cup since 1998. The victory sent the Tartan Army into the throes of rapture, including Robert MacIntyre, who was in attendance singing “Freed From Desire” until he was hoarse.

The Oban-born Scottish Open winner and two-time Ryder Cup champ knows a thing or two about national pride and athletic excellence. Despite his accolades, however, MacIntyre was a fan just like everyone else on Tuesday. His decision to bundle up and brave the weather paid off too, as Scotland wowed Hampden Park with a performance for the ages. Despite the conditions and the stakes, MacIntyre seemingly had a great time soaking in the atmosphere (literally, if you anything about Glasgow in November).
