Tomorrow, 21 November, Commissioner for Energy and Housing, Dan Jørgensen, and the Norwegian Minister of Energy, Terje Aasland will co-chair the annual EU–Norway Energy Dialogue and convene the 7th EU-Norway Energy Conference in Brussels.
As a significant supplier of oil, gas, and electricity, Norway is an important partner for the EU, and plays a pivotal role as the EU works to fully phase out Russian fossil fuels and enhance energy independence. The Energy Dialogue will focus on energy security, electricity market matters, progress on carbon capture and storage (CCS) and stocktaking on the incorporation of EU energy legislation by Norway.
The Energy Conference, which will see the participation of key actors from the energy sector, will address a variety of topics including reinforcing energy security, advancing the energy transition, ensuring affordable energy, and advancing technologies such as carbon capture and storage (CCS). The opening speeches by Commissioner Jørgensen and Minister Aasland will be broadcast on EBS+.
