Hamilton Police are advising the community of a significant road closure on the Red Hill Valley Parkway (RHVP) following a tractor-trailer rollover early this morning.
On Thursday, November 20, 2025, shortly after 12:30 a.m., Hamilton Police responded to a transport truck traveling northbound on the Red Hill Valley Parkway (RHVP) between Greenhill Avenue and King Street East. The truck had overturned, spilling three to four large steel coils onto the roadway. These coils are currently blocking the middle lanes, causing a significant obstruction.
The collision also caused extensive damage to approximately 300 feet of guardrail separating the northbound and southbound RHVP lanes. Debris from the transport truck and damaged guardrail are scattered throughout the northbound roadway, prompting lengthy ongoing cleanup and repair.
Southbound lanes of the RHVP remain OPEN, however northbound lanes between Mud Street and King Street East are fully CLOSED. The closure is expected to remain in place for several hours as crews work to safely remove the coils, clear debris, and assess damage.
Motorists are urged to plan alternate routes and avoid the area.Â
Drivers can expect delays and increased traffic congestion on surrounding roadways.
Further updates will be provided as they become available.
