Texas has declared the Muslim Brotherhood and the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) as terrorist organizations and international criminal entities.

The move effectively aims to block them from purchasing land in the southern state – and will also grant the attorney general authority to take legal action to shut down branches of these organizations.

However, the step is largely symbolic because the authority to designate groups as terrorist organizations rests with the federal government.

In explaining the declaration, it was stated that “the Islamist movement founded Hamas, which is responsible for the October 7 massacre – when it kidnapped and murdered American citizens.”
