Peel police media relations officer Const. Tyler Bell said preliminary information suggests a white SUV travelling south struck two pedestrians crossing the road.
The pedestrians, a man in his 60s and a boy under the age of 16, were then “potentially” thrown into the path of a northbound Volkswagen, Bell said.
The teen, he said, was found trapped underneath the Volkswagen. He was extricated and was taken to the hospital along with the other pedestrian.

When asked if the pedestrians are father and son, Bell said they don’t have that information on their relationship at this time.
“It would appear at this point that they were crossing the roadway, varying reports of where in the roadway they were at the time of the collision. That’ll become more clear as forensics arrive and the scene gets mapped out,” he said.
As for the drivers, they remained at the scene and co-operated with the investigation, Bell said.
Police are asking anyone with information to contact them or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
