The Saskatchewan Roughriders have brought back a trio of familiar faces, including Canadian receiver D’Sean Mimbs.

The six-foot-one, 180-pound pass catcher appeared in four games as a rookie in 2025, registering one reception for five yards. He was originally selected 50th overall in the sixth round of the 2024 CFL Draft, before returning to school for his final season of eligibility.

Mimbs spent the five seasons at the University of Regina, where he played 32 games for the Rams, where he recorded 130 receptions for 1,717 yards and ten touchdowns. The Regina native is the son of former CFL running back Robert Mimbs.

The Riders have also re-signed Canadian defensive back Gideon Agyei and American defensive end Chico Bennett Jr.

Agyei was selected 52nd overall in the sixth round of the 2025 CFL Draft, but returned for his final season at the University of Calgary, where he was named a Canada West all-star. The six-foot-two, 189-pound cover man suited up in 29 games for the Dinos over five collegiate seasons, recording 70 total tackles, two interceptions, including one returned for a touchdown, and 17 pass deflections.

Bennett appeared in the final two regular-season games for Saskatchewan, making two defensive tackles. The six-foot-four, 256-pound pass rusher played three seasons at the University of Virginia, earning 107 tackles, 21 tackles for loss, eight sacks, three forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries and one interception in 33 games. He transferred from Georgia Tech, where he registered 31 tackles, two tackles for loss, and one sack in 15 games. 

The Saskatchewan Roughriders finished first in the West Division standings in 2025 with a 12-6 record, finishing first in the West Division for the first time since 2019. The team went on to defeat the Montreal Alouettes in the 112th Grey Cup in Winnipeg, marking the team’s first championship in 12 years. Trevor Harris went 11-5 as a starter, throwing for 4,549 yards, 24 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions.

The Roughriders ranked second in net offence, second in net defence, and tied for third with a turnover differential of plus-eight. The club’s leading rusher was A.J. Ouellette with 1,222 yards, the leading receiver was KeeSean Johnson with 1,159 yards, and the leading tackler was A.J. Allen with 91 tackles. Saskatchewan finished second in attendance with average crowds of 28,427, which was a 2.7 percent increase from the previous year.
