Lando Norris could potentially be in danger of a penalty from the FIA after dropping an f-bomb during the post-Las Vegas Grand Prix podium interviews.

After finishing in second place to Max Verstappen, Norris talked through the Turn 1 incident where he tried to chop Verstappen, but out-braked himself and ran wide.

This gifted Verstappen a lead he would not lose as he explained what had happened, initially saying “it was my F-up.”

However, later in the interview, Norris said on the world feed that “I fucked it up” – a breach of the swearing guidelines in place for drivers.

In 2024, FIA president Mohammed Ben Sulayem launched a crackdown on drivers swearing, with a compromise eventually reached where radio traffic would not be subject to guidelines, but swearing during media work could be.

Instances of swearing are investigated on a case-by-case basis by the FIA F1 media delegate, who decides whether to take action, but Norris will not receive a sporting penalty.
