NEA delegation at the 32nd Annual Women in Nuclear (WiN) Global Conference.

The 32nd Annual Women in Nuclear (WiN) Global Conference, held from 14–18 July 2025 in London, UK, under the theme “Positively Nuclear: Influencing Our Future” brought together nearly 800 global leaders, professionals and advocates from across the nuclear sector.

The NEA delegation to the conference contributed presentations on the WiN chapter at the NEA’s current activities and strategic initiatives, as well as the NEA chapter’s contributions to the WiN Global mentoring programme. The NEA delegation also highlighted its pioneering role in the WiN in Nuclear Law initiative, which aims to improve gender balance in the nuclear law sector.

In recognition of her longstanding commitment to international collaboration, Keiko Chitose (NEA) was awarded the WiN UK Outstanding Contribution Award. This honour reflects her leadership in establishing and maintaining a network for women in the sector, enabling them to exchange knowledge and experiences towards furthering their career development.

Throughout the week the delegation hosted a stand presenting a selection of NEA reports and publications. These resources provided participants with insights into nuclear safety, radioactive waste management and nuclear law, among others.

The NEA delegation also took part in a technical visit of the Harwell Campus,  an opportunity to explore the UK’s legacy and future in nuclear science and technology. Participants also visited Nuclear Waste Services (NWS), Diamond Light Source, ISIS Neutron and Muon Source and Nuclear Restoration Services (NRS) which included a chance to see the historic DIDO research reactor.

The NEA’s active participation in WiN Global 2025 reflects its commitment to advancing nuclear knowledge and supporting the next generation of professionals.
