One patient has been rushed to the hospital following a stabbing in Toronto’s Bloor West Village neighbourhood on Monday afternoon, say paramedics.
The incident happened near a parkette behind the Toronto Public Library’s Runnymede branch, at Bloor Street West and Glendonwynne Road.
Emergency responders said they were called to that area just before 2:45 p.m. for reports of a stabbing.
Toronto police said officers at the scene located a man who had been stabbed. They are describing his injuries as non-life-threatening.
Investigators say a suspect, a man in his 40s, fled the area before officers arrived but was located and arrested nearby. The name of the suspect and what charges he may be facing have not been released.
Toronto paramedics said they transported one patient to a “lead trauma centre” in serious, but non-life-threatening condition.
