German YouTuber Jan Zimmermann has died suddenly at just 27 years old.
Zimmermann’s family announced his passing in an Instagram post on Monday, November 24, revealing he died “very suddenly and unexpectedly on November 18th from an epileptic seizure.”
“The pain we feel is beyond words, but we would like to thank you for your condolences. We currently feel unable to say anything more. Please refrain from contacting us about this further,” the statement, translated from German, read.
His loved ones remembered his “humor, his honesty, and his big heart” as “gifts he shared with everyone.”
“He gave courage to people who never met him personally and showed them that even in difficult times, one can navigate life with love and openness. Forever loved, forever unforgettable, we let you go, but we will never forget you,” they added.

Bild, a German newspaper, reported that the content creator was found dead in his apartment and that authorities found “no evidence of foul play.”
Zimmermann, who had Tourette’s syndrome, teamed up with friend Tim Lehmann on the hit YouTube channel Gewitter im Kopf, where the pair created humorous and educational content about life with the condition for over 2 million followers.
