A Status Yellow wind warning has been issued for counties Donegal and Mayo from this afternoon.
Met Éireann has forecast gusty southwesterly winds that will be strong to gale force.
The warning will come into place at 4pm today and will remain in place until 6am in the morning.
The forecaster is warning of difficult travelling conditions and the potential for debris and loose objects to be displaced.
Elsewhere in the country, it will be breezy and blustery with a mix of clear spells and scattered showers.
