The Shin Bet has uncovered a terror infrastructure operated by residents of Kafr Qasim and Rahat for transferring weapons and funds to the West Bank. The network operated under the direction of Ahmad Sarsour, an Israeli citizen living in Turkey who worked on behalf of Hamas. This infrastructure worked to smuggle weapons and hundreds of thousands of shekels in funds. The investigation revealed that Sarsour exploited his family and friend connections in Kafr Qasim to establish a network for transferring weapons and money to the West Bank. The funds were transferred through cryptocurrencies that were converted by Israeli money changers into cash, which the suspects then used to purchase weapons from arms dealers in the Negev, which were then transferred to the West Bank area. Indictments will be filed against those involved.
