Troy Parrott hailed the defensive effort put up by his fellow Dubliners at Shelbourne as he vowed to try and carry his form into the World Cup play-offs in March.

The former Belvedere player had a testing night in the AZ Alkmaar shirt against Shels, Paddy Barrett in particular a difficult opponent for Parrott who did enjoy his side’s 2-0 win albeit on a night when he drew a blank.
