Two people were taken to hospital after a car crashed into a wall and went on fire in a residential street in Cork city. The accident occurred overnight in the Ballintemple area, and Gardaí have sealed off the scene.

Gardaí and emergency services were alerted in the early hours this morning after a car struck a wall and went up in flames at Crab Lane, a small residential street between Blackrock Road and Boreenmanna Road. Thankfully, no serious injuries were reported as a result of the collision, which occured shortly after 1.40am.

The two people were taken to Cork University Hospital to be assessed by a medical team, however its understood they were luckily not seriously injured during the scary incident. Gardaí have preserved the scene for examination and are making inquries into the incident.

A Garda spokesperson told CorkBeo: “Shortly after 1:40am on Friday, 28th November 2025, Gardaí were alerted after a car struck a wall at Crab Lane, Blackrock, Cork, and caught fire. Two individuals were taken to CUH for assessment. No serious injuries were reported. The scene is currently preserved for examination. Inquiries are ongoing.”
