Long before the residents of Dartmouth Square West started becoming concerned about the MetroLink, they spent years concerned about the actions of an Athlone-based businessman who showed up one day, locked the gates of the Victorian park in front of the homes, and claimed ownership of it.

In what turned out to be a long-drawn-out saga that still lingers to this day, the actions of one Noel O’Gara put the cat among the pigeons in the idyllic and historical square in Ranelagh, Dublin 6.
