Anthony Davis racks up 12 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists in 28 minutes against the Lakers.
The Dallas Mavericks have welcomed back star big man Anthony Davis, who had not played since late October, during Friday’s Emirates NBA Cup matchup with the Lakers.
Davis started and played 28 minutes in the 129-119 loss, scoring 12 points and amassing five rebounds, five assists and three blocks while shooting 6-for-10 from the floor.

Davis suffered a left calf strain on Oct. 29 in a 107-105 win against the Indiana Pacers. He was then reevaluated on Nov. 16 and was given another week to 10 days to heal up before being reassessed.
Davis, a 10-time All-Star, has been plagued by injuries throughout his career. Last season, after being traded from Los Angeles Lakers for Luka Dončić, he got injured and missed 18 games and returned for the final eight games of the season as the Mavericks missed the playoffs.
This season, Davis is averaging 20.8 points, 10.2 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 1.6 steals and 1.2 blocks per game while shooting 52% overall and 27.3% on 3-pointers. Dallas was 2-3 with him in the lineup and has gone 3-11 during his absence. The Mavs (5-14) are tied with the Sacramento Kings for the second-worst record in the Western Conference.
