Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee Chairman Boaz Bismuth (Likud) addressed the draft exemption law and wrote on X that “I have been working on the text in recent weeks in full cooperation with the committee’s legal advisors. I made several changes to fully comply with legal requirements and prevent any future legal risks. This is a responsible law that creates a balance between the IDF’s needs and preserving the world of Torah, and restores stability to the State of Israel.” According to him, “the train has already left the station and it will not stop until the law is approved in the Knesset plenum.”
