A Status Yellow rain warning was in place over Cork, Kerry and Waterford during the early hours of this morning and expired at 9am.
However, the rest of the country has so far escaped any weather warnings from the national forecaster.
There are isolated showers around the country this morning with intermittent sunny spells. Cloud will gather in the west as the day goes on, bringing rainfall in western and southwestern counties, before moving inwards over the afternoon.
Temperatures will reach between 4C and 8C in the afternoon, becoming slightly warmer in the night at 5C to 10C when it will be mostly wet with potential localised flooding in parts.
