The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has released the 2025 Light the World video, “The First Christmas Story, Retold by Children,” inviting people to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ by sharing His light with others.
The video features children reenacting and reciting the Nativity story found in Luke 2 interspersed between scenes from the Church’s 2019 video, “The Christ Child.”
Published on Church social media platforms on Sunday, November 30, 2025, the video includes an invitation to “experience the joy that comes from the Savior of the world.” The video is available in English, Spanish, Portuguese and French.
This year, Church areas in Kenya, the Philippines, Brazil and South America have created their own versions of the Light the World video that reflect their languages, cultures and traditions. The French, Tagalog, Portuguese and Spanish videos will be shared on various Church internet and social media channels.
“The Light the World initiative is rooted in the biblical teaching of Jesus Christ, who declared, ‘I am the light of the world’ (John 8:12), said Elder Gary E. Stevenson of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles at a Light the World event in Kansas City, Missouri, on Saturday, November 22, 2025. “His light was never meant to be admired from afar. It was meant to be shared. When we give, whether it be through a machine, a donation, or even just a kind act, we become His light.”
