West Brom midfielder responded to the recent criticism directed towards him in the perfect fashion on Saturday, scoring a later winner to lead his side to a 3-2 victory over Swansea City.
The Ireland international had been widely panned by Baggies fans in recent weeks. His red card against Coventry City last weekend saw his side lose 3-2 in a game they had been leading 2-1 when both sides had 11 men.
Molumby was then suspended for the draw with Birmingham City in midweek, returning to the side in dramatic fashion yesterday. His 85th minute strike was West Brom complete the come back in the game, having trailed 2-0 after just 11 minutes.

West Brom Boss Left Critical Fans In No Doubt About Jayson Molumby After Winner
Jayson Molumby has certainly had a roller coaster few weeks. Having been part of Ireland’s famous win in Budapest earlier this month, the two club appearances that followed have seen him getting sent off and then scoring a late winner for his team.
Speaking after yesterday’s game, West Brom manager Ryan Mason summed up the Irishman’s importance at the club despite the recent questions from supporters.
I think that’s football in a nutshell – Jayson cares, he cares so much. You can see that every day. The way he approaches training. He’s so invested in this club and this group. I’d much rather people like that…
I know Jayson respects me and he knows that feeling is certainly mutual. I love him as a person. I think he’s got a massive heart and he works so hard.
We’ve missed Jayson, we miss Toby Collyer, the energy that they bring into that midfield. Obviously Jayson had an injury after the international in October. I think a lot of our game, a big part of it, is trying to create that energy through the middle of the pitch. We play through the middle of the pitch a lot.
It’s what we believe, it’s what I believe in, it’s what the group would continue to do. I thought Jayson was a real driving force in that today and we’ve missed him. He’s a big part of what we want to do.
Having had a poor run of form in recent times, West Brom will be hoping that this result will get their season back on track. They will certainly aim to get back into the play-off mix in the weeks ahead.
After this goal, Jayson Molumby looks set to play a big part in helping the club achieve their ambitions over the remainder of the season.
