Albion were praised for their “absolutely outstanding” movement as they carved Nottingham Forest open.

The Seagulls created several early chances in their 2-0 win at the City Ground.

Movement from midfield and wide areas as Danny Welbeck came deep was too much for Sean Dyche’s side to cope with.

And the only concern rom an Albion viewpoint was that they did not score until first-half stoppage time.

Match Of The Day pundits Alan Shearer and Micah Richards were suitably impressed.

Shearer told viewers: “That was a bjg plus for Brighton and has been for a while because they are clever in what they do, they are smart in what they do.

“I know Forest were missing Murilo, which was a big loss for them, but a lot of the time in Brighton’s play, if you watch Danny Welbeck, he stays deep and tries to draw the centre-half out.

“That is what I mean by smart and understanding how and when to run.

“Brighton were all over Forest. They had nine shots in the first 20 minutes.”

Richards added: “It’s all about the timing.

“Welbeck is coming deep to drag someone out and then can you find the pass wide?

“It was wave after wave. Absolutely outstanding.”

Shearer said: “Tough to mark when you time it as well they have done.”
