MADISON, Wis. — Madison will continue its plowing operations Sunday after over 9 inches of snow hit the city on Saturday.
The city said progress has been slow due to the significant snow depth, and work is expected to continue into the afternoon.
A snow emergency continues through Sunday, and alternate side parking rules remain in effect.
City crews are also working on clearing snow from approximately 200 miles of city-mandated sidewalks and paths, in addition to over 1,000 bus stops.
Initial plowing is expected to be completed by Sunday afternoon.
Residents are reminded not to place trash and recycling carts in the street, as this obstructs snowplows from clearing snow back to the curb.
Leaf collection is also suspended for the season, and will resume in the spring of 2026. For information on drop-off sites, go to the City of Madison’s website.
