Catalans have lost another of their new recruits.
Catalans have signed Iszac Fa’asuamaleaui.
Perth Bears are set to raid Super League again, lining up another Catalans Dragons player who has yet to play for the club yet.
All Out Rugby League understands the new NRL club have signed Iszac Fa’asuamaleaui, the 24-year-old prop who has joined the Dragons ahead of the 2026 campaign.
Fa’asuamaleaui, the brother of Australia and Gold Coast Titans star Tino, has linked up with Joel Tomkins’ new-look squad ahead of the new season after making 14 appearances for the Titans last year.
However, his stay in Perpignan is set to be one-season long, with the Bears moving quickly to sign him up ahead of their inaugural campaign in 2027.
Fa’asuamaleaui becomes the third Super League player already to agree terms with Perth, and the second Catalans player. Toby Sexton, another player Catalans signed in the off-season, has already signed for the club, as has Leeds Rhinos centre Harry Newman.
For the Dragons, it means two of the off-season recruits have already signed for a different club before even playing for their new one, but does give the club time to identify new recruits heading into the 2027 campaign.
Super League clubs can now start signing off-contract players for 2027 after rules were changed last year. Previously, negotiations could only formally start on May 1st, but that was pushed forward to December 1st.
Perth have also signed two London Broncos players. Luke Smith and Emarly Bitungane have been announced as their latest additions but will spend the upcoming campaign playing in the Championship as part of Jason Demetriou’s squad.
