Liverpool helped set a new attendance record in Wednesday’s pre-season friendly with Yokohama F. Marinos.

There were 67,032 supporters present for the game at Nissan Stadium, which the Reds won 3-1 thanks to second-half goals from Florian Wirtz, Trey Nyoni and Rio Ngumoha.

That crowd figure established a new high for a J. League-hosted match.

Arne Slot’s team had previously faced AC Milan at Hong Kong’s Kai Tak Stadium on the first leg of this summer’s tour, in front of 49,704 spectators.
