The Donegal woman arrested at Heathrow Airport was detained after 3.5 kilos of cocaine was found in baggage, Donegal Daily can reveal.

We revealed yesterday how the woman from the Inishowen area was arrested at the London airport on November 7th.

The 49-year-old was later charged in connection with the alleged importation of class A drugs.

A spokesperson for the National Crime Agency in Britain has confirmed to us that the accused woman will now appear at Isleworth Crown Court on Monday next.

A spokesperson confirmed “49-year-old XXXXXXX XXXXXXX from the Inishowen area of County Donegal, Ireland will appear before Isleworth Crown Court on Monday 8 December charged with importing class A drugs.

“It follows the seizure of around 3.5 kilos of suspected class A drugs found in baggage at Heathrow on 7 November.

“Following the seizure by Border Force officers the case was passed to NCA investigators, who interviewed and charged XXXXXXX.

“She appeared at Wimbledon Magistrates on 8 November where she was initially remanded in custody, but was later bailed until her next court appearance.”
