The second week of December will begin with a wintry mix, as snowfall moves in across southern Ontario before colder air takes hold later in the day.
Those hoping to catch Sunday’s 7:37 a.m. sunrise with a warm beverage in hand may be disappointed, as mainly cloudy skies and incoming snow will block most of the early-morning view.
Mississauga, Brampton and Halton will all see light snow beginning in the morning, tapering off late in the afternoon. Hamilton will experience a similar pattern, with flurries lingering into the early evening. In Durham, snow will arrive early in the morning, with 2 to 4 cm expected.
Daytime highs will reach –1 C in Mississauga, Brampton, Halton and Hamilton, while Durham will be slightly colder at –2 C. Wind chill values will make it feel closer to –10 C to –11 C through the day.
Wind speeds will increase to 20 km/h gusting to 40 across Mississauga, Brampton and Halton. Hamilton and Durham will also see windy conditions up to 40 km/h by early afternoon.

Skies will clear in the evening for Mississauga, Brampton, Halton and Durham, with temperatures plunging overnight.
Mississauga and Brampton will drop to –14 C, Halton to –15 C, Hamilton to –13 C and Durham to a frigid –16 C. Overnight wind chills will dip as low as –18 to –25 C, making the cold especially harsh by Monday morning.
